Emerging from the academic research group of Weather & Climate Risk at ETH Zurich, CLIMADA Technologies is a spin-off of ETH Zurich and a globally operating climate risk analytics company bringing opportunity to climate adaptation. Our technology is built on CLIMADA, the open-source and global platform for probabilistic multi-hazard risk modeling and options appraisal.
CLIMADA Technologies delivers high-resolution physical risk analytics, integrating probabilistic hazard event sets with asset and vulnerability data to quantify both direct and indirect climate impacts. Through our Data-as-a-Service (DaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and bespoke risk analyses, we provide tailored solutions that support businesses and institutions in understanding and managing climate-related risks.
About the role
We are looking for an empathetic, driven and commercially savvy Key Account Manager to join our team. As the primary contact for our corporate and institutional clients, you will be tasked with ensuring their success with our climate risk solutions and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement. A crucial member of our commercial team, you will be instrumental in helping clients derive deep understanding and value from our products, upselling where relevant, and feeding market insights back into the organization.
You will work in close collaboration with our technical team to ensure our clients benefit from actionable, scientifically robust risk insights.
What you bring:
A university degree (BA or higher) in business, environmental science, sustainability, economics, or another relevant field.
5+ years of experience in account management, business development, or consulting, ideally in a B2B SaaS or data-driven environment.
CRM experience with different tools to ensure a flawless client process
Deep interest in climate change and sustainability topics; understanding of physical climate risk, adaptation, or ESG is a significant plus.
Strong client-facing skills, with an ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships with senior stakeholders.
Commercial mindset: proactive in identifying client needs, proposing tailored solutions, and driving upsell opportunities.
Highly collaborative, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive, positive, and people-oriented attitude. A genuine interest in - and like for humans, married with the capacity to thrive in a team-driven culture.
Fluent in German and English; additional languages (e.g. French, Spanish) are a plus.
Your impact:
Manage and nurture a portfolio of large global clients from onboarding through renewal and expansion.
Act as the voice of the client internally: understand their climate risk needs and coordinate with the tech team to ensure value delivery.
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities by understanding clients’ evolving business needs and aligning them with our expanding offerings.
Lead regular client review meetings and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Support proposal writing, contract negotiation, and strategic account planning.
Represent CLIMADA Technologies at relevant industry events, workshops, and client presentations.
Contribute to shaping our commercial strategy and improving internal processes and tools.
