Background CLIMADA Technologies
CLIMADA Technologies is a global physical risk analytics company supporting global and
local corporations, financial institutions and governmental bodies to quantify and price
extreme weather losses and identify where resilience investment pays off.
Our technology is built on the open-source modelling framework CLIMADA, a global
multi-hazard model originally developed within the Weather & Climate Risk research group
at ETH Zurich. We cover all acute and chronic perils impacting asset values and operations.
By combining these hazard sets with asset- and vulnerability-level data, we generate
physical risk analytics which capture both direct damage and indirect (business interruption,
supply chain) impacts comparable consistently across regions and sectors.
The output feeds into robust risk assessments and global reporting requirements taking
industry-specific financial risk metrics and scores into consideration. In addition, our
technology provides a cost/benefit perspective on bespoke climate adaptation opportunities,
covering a variety of relevant adaptation pathways.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, client-focused professional to lead and grow the
relationships at the heart of our business — owning the client experience from onboarding
through project delivery to renewal and expansion, across our corporate and institutional
clients in finance, real estate, energy, industry and the public sector. Working closely with our
technology team, you will ensure client projects are scoped realistically and delivered to a
high standard.
This role requires technical depth in climate risk, data analytics and Python-based workflows
to contribute directly to the analysis as well as to hold credible conversations with technical
clients. You will also prepare technical documentation and climate risk reports, communicate
results through clear visualisations, presentations and recommendations, and support clients
in understanding, using and interpreting climate risk analytics by translating complex
information into clear, actionable insights.
The role should combine scientific rigour and strong technical expertise with a clear focus on
ensuring that client needs and project learning feed back into methodology and product
development.
What you bring:
Several years of experience in client management, account management or senior
client-facing consulting, ideally in a technical, data-driven or financial services
environment.
MSc in climate science, meteorology, environmental data science, geophysics,
geoinformatics economics, engineering, or another relevant quantitative discipline.
Professional or academic experience in physical climate risk, natural hazard
modelling, climate impact assessment, environmental data analysis or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in Python and strong data analytics skills, including statistical
and machine learning techniques for large, complex or heterogeneous datasets, and
experience developing robust, reproducible analytical workflows.
A track record of managing complex client relationships, including commercial
conversations around scoping, renewals and expansion.
Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical results into clear insights
for non-technical audiences.
Experience with any of the following would be a plus:
Climate risk reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Financial impact modelling, vulnerability modelling or catastrophe risk modelling.
Cloud-based analytical workflows, APIs or scalable data-processing environments.
Prior experience scaling a client success or account management function within a
start-up or scale-up.
Your impact:
Own and grow strategic relationships across our corporate and institutional client
base, acting as the escalation point for client needs and expectations.
Manage and deliver client projects covering physical climate risk analytics, technical
documentation and climate risk reporting — from standard assessments on our
delta-climateTM platform to bespoke analyses and new methodologies tailored to
specific client questions, sectors, assets and decision-making contexts.
Analyse large climate, hazard, exposure, vulnerability and financial datasets using
Python and geospatial tools, and translate results and uncertainties into clear
visualisations, presentations and reports that help clients interpret climate risks and
identify relevant reporting, risk-management and adaptation actions.
Identify and pursue renewal, upsell and expansion opportunities within existing
accounts, working closely with business development on commercial strategy.
Build, structure and, over time, lead a client management function, including defining
processes, tools and ways of working as the company grows.
We would like to offer you:
The opportunity to work with a highly motivated and collaborative team of specialist
who care about the planet and are committed to developing meaningful climate risk
solutions.
Meaningful work with direct relevance for climate resilience, adaptation and corporate
decision-making.
Responsibility and autonomy in a varied role that combines climate science, data
analytics and methodological development with direct client collaboration, and the
opportunity to shape our methodologies, products and client solutions.
A flexible and dynamic working environment with room for creativity, initiative and
professional growth.
